Springvale Riesling
Wine
Grosset Springvale Riesling is grown in the high altitude Springvale Vineyard at Watervale in the Clare Valley. The vines cover just six hectares of a much larger property.
Planted to exactly mirror the limestone soil below it, the vineyard is entirely planted to three different Riesling clones. As the vines matured, their roots hit a bedrock of slate buried deep below the limestone.
The fruit is crushed, destemmed and cold settled over several days. The free run juice is inoculated with neutral yeasts. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks in separate batches according to the clone.
Vibrant yellow gold, Grosset Springvale Riesling has intense pure citrus flavours, slatey acidity, zesty minerality and a long, dry finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
